How does it work?
Dropshipping is a retail fulfillment method in which an online store does not keep it's own goods in stock. When a dropshipping store generates a sale, the merchant (you) purchases the item from a third party supplier - located in China or the U.S.A. - and has the product shipped directly to the customer. As a result, the merchant never sees or handles the product.
The biggest difference between dropshipping and the standard retail model is that the selling merchant doesn't stock or own inventory. Instead, the merchant purchases inventory as needed from a third party – usually a wholesaler or manufacturer – to fulfill orders.
How hard is dropshipping?
Running a dropshipping business is much easier than one would think, seeing as you don't have to deal with the products in hand.
Here are some of the hassles that you do not have to worry about
Managing or paying for a warehouse
Packing and shipping your orders
Tracking inventory for accounting
Handling returns and inbound shipments
Continually ordering products and managing stock level
It all begins by creating a Shopify store. The next steps include finding a product, setting up a presentable website, advertising the product on social media, and most importantly generating sales. All of which we dive heavily into depth with in our Simple Scale Dropshipping course!
